13th Traditional Garden Party of Vienna Economic Forum

On 13 June 2014 the Board of Vienna Economic Forum together with the Ambassadors of the Member Countries invited to the 13th traditional meeting of the friends between Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea. The “Culinary and musical journey through the countries of the Region” with the involvement of all the Member Countries of Vienna Economic Forum took place in the garden of the Diplomatic Academy.

In the year 2014 Vienna Economic Forum celebrated its highly gratifying 10th Jubilee, on a less positive note however in less joyful times for some of the Member Countries. “That is why we want to show ourselves determined, that the word “cooperation” is a concept that is near and dear to us and our hearts ache, when people of our Member Countries in recent times were be afflicted by social and natural disasters! I am deeply convinced and want to thank all ambassadors of the Vienna Economic Forum–countries: You all, Excellencies, have in these specific times a very high responsibility and difficult tasks: not only to represent and present your own country, but even more so to work on the prosperity and wellbeing of your countries!” said Secretary General Amb. Dr. Elena Kirtcheva.

The embassies spared no effort to indulge the guests with country specific culinary specialties. The artistic performance has been, as in the years before, the highlight of the evening and the guest enjoyed the performance of the various artists.

  • Macedonian folk song “Dimna Juda” accompanied by a dance of the folklore group “Makedonka” – Vienna
  • Ms Flaka Goranci, mezzo-soprano and Mr Alfred Bushi, guitar presented the songs “Lule Bore” and “Margjelo” from Albania
  • Turkish folklore dance group from the Gaziantep region with a potpourri of a number of folk dances
  • Mr Danijel Piller, accordion and Mr Darko Piller, violin, music students from Serbia, played traditional songs from the balkan region
  • The Bulgarian dance group “KITKA” presented bulgarian dances.
