On November 11, 2024, Secretary General of the Vienna Economic Forum (VEF), Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva held an interview with journalist Dragomir Simeonov on Darik Radio, Media Partner of Vienna Economic Forum.
In the Interview, Amb. Dr. Kirtcheva spoke about the new realities in Europe and the world at the beginning of the 21. century which have clearly demonstrated the need for closer regional economic cooperation among the countries of Southeast Europe. From this realization the vision of founding an economic forum based in Vienna was born. Vienna, due to its location at the heart of Central Europe and its long-standing close relations with these countries, has always been and remains the ideal place to fulfill this mission.
This vision and initiative was enthusiastically supported with action and advice by many of Austria’s most well-known companies and industrialists and in April 2004 Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) was founded based on the Austrian Association Act.
The Secreatary General informed about the 21st Vienna Economic Forum, which took place on 4th November 2024 in Haus der Industrie in Vienna. Vienna Economic Forum takes place each year traditionally in November in Vienna, gathering participants from 13 VEF- Member Countries from the Region “from the Adriatic to the Black Sea”, from Europe and Worldwide.
Amb. Kirtcheva spoke about this years Vienna Economic Forum – Sofia Meeting 2024 which under the Motto “Continuing to Build Bridges during Difficult Times” took place on 22 April 2024 in Boyana Residency, Sofia, Bulgaria.
The 21st Vienna Economic Forum – Vienna Future Dialogue 2024 took place on 4th November 2024 in Haus der Ingenieure in Vienna. Amb. Kirtcheva highlighted that the traditional VEFs that have kept their focus on the Development of the Regional Economy, about the Economic Consolidation of the VEF Region. The 21st VEF under the Motto “Regional Economy as part of the European and Global Economy” brought together participants from VEF Member Countries, from Europe and worldwide, among them also AIM Congress, Dubai, UAE, Strategic Partner of Vienna Economic Forum, one of the largest Congress Organisers, covering 170 countries.
Among other topics, and the 20th Jubilee Vienna Economic Forum were discussed.
