On 10 October 2025, the Secretary General of Vienna Economic Forum (VEF), Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva, had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Sebastián Sosa, Regional Resident Representative for the Western Balkans in the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at the premises of VEF.

The Secretary General emphasized the long-standing cooperation between Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and expressed her special appreciation to the Managing Director of the IMF, Dr. Kristalina Georgieva, for the active participation of high-ranking IMF representatives in the activities of VEF in various VEF Member Countries.

Dr. Sebastián Sosa was especially designated to take part in the 22nd Vienna Economic Forum – Vienna Future Dialogue 2025, which will take place on Monday, 17 November 2025, under the Patronage of H.E. Dr. Christian Stocker, Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria and Patron of Vienna Economic Forum, under the Motto “Economy Meets Politics: Strengthening the European Voice,” at Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) in Vienna.

The meeting took place in a very friendly atmosphere and focused on the possibilities for an even more active cooperation between Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in particular with the IMF Representation in Vienna.
