At the ”Wirtschaftskonferenz zum westlichen Balkan – über Handel, Investitionen und regionale Kooperation zu neuer Dynamik“ which took place on 28 August 2014 in Berlin, Secretary General Amb. Dr. Elena Kirtcheva signed, in the name of Vienna Economic Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding with the chairman of the Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft (Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations), Dr. Eckhard Cordes.

The conference was organised in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany, at which a large number of Ministers of Economy of the Vienna Economic Forum Committee of Ministers of Economy took part.

The Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations represents and pools the interests of German business in Germany and Eastern Europe, currently in 21 countries. With the Memorandum of Understanding both organisations want to further develop and deepen their good relations and to benefit mutually from the year long experience of Vienna Economic Forum in the region for a better use of the synergy effects and thus to contribute to a strengthened cooperation among the economic operators of the region.

H.E. Mr. Sigmar Gabriel, Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany attended the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding:
