On 28 February 2024, Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Robert Schuman Institute (RSI), Budapest.

The MoU was signed by the Secretary General of Vienna Economic Forum, Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva, the President of Vienna Economic Forum and Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Ambassador Dr. Emil Brix, and the President of Robert Schuman Institute, Ms. Mariya Gabriel. Ms. Gabriel has served as European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth (2019–2023), European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society (2017–2019), as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria (2023–2024).

Ms. Mariya Gabriel has been a long-standing and dedicated supporter of Vienna Economic Forum. In various capacities, she has actively participated in numerous VEF events and has played a key role in the successful organization of Vienna Economic Forum – Sofia Meeting 2024, where she was honored with the VEF Award.

During the official opening of the 20th Jubilee Vienna Economic Forum – Vienna Future Dialogue 2023, Ms. Mariya Gabriel delivered a keynote address that deeply inspired the numerous participants from the VEF region, from EU and non-EU countries, as well as from around the world, leaving a lasting impression.

Vienna Economic Forum looks forward to a close and fruitful cooperation with the Robert Schuman Institute and to welcoming RSI President Mariya Gabriel at Vienna Economic Forum – Chișinău Meeting 2025 on 18–19 May 2025.
