On 30 October 2025, the Secretary General of Vienna Economic Forum (VEF), Ambassador Dr. Elena Kirtcheva, received a delegation from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Skopje at the premises of Vienna Economic Forum (VEF).

The delegation consisted of:

• Prof. Dr. Elena Davitkovska
• Amb. Prof. Dr. Vasilka Poposka Trenevska

The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje (UKIM), Strategic Partner of VEF, is a founding member of the League of Universities from the Region of the Vienna Economic Forum – From the Adriatic to the Black Sea, initiated by Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) and established in June 2025, with the aim of deepening academic cooperation within the VEF Region.

Amb. Prof. Dr. Vasilka Poposka Trenevska, Member of the Honorary Committee of VEF has represented UKIM at the official announcement of the establishment of the League of Universities.

During the meeting, the crucial importance of higher education for sustainable economic development was underlined, as well as the irreplaceable visionary role of science in strengthening the intellectual potential of the VEF region.

In an exceptionally cordial atmosphere, thoughts were exchanged regarding the upcoming 22nd Vienna Economic Forum – Vienna Future Dialogue 2025, taking place on 17 November 2025 in Vienna, as well as other initiatives and projects of both organisations, and their mutual support based on the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VEF and UKIM.

During their visit to Vienna, the delegation also held additional successful meetings, including at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (VetmedUni Vienna).

Vienna Economic Forum looks forward to the continued activities of the League of Universities from the Region of the Vienna Economic Forum – From the Adriatic to the Black Sea, which is also open to other interested universities from the region.
